Technician
Ben Evans
Hi! I’m Ben, a first-year Maths student, and I’m running for Technician. I’ve been playing guitar for over ten years, alongside bass guitar, baritone horn, and double bass. I enjoy performing and listening to a wide range of music—from heavy metal to jazz and classical—across my various instruments.
I’ve gained experience in jazz ensembles, brass band, and string ensemble, as well as freelance work in pit orchestras and youth orchestras. I’ve also worked at a music festival and in events management, giving me valuable insight into the technical and organisational side of live performance.
This breadth of experience across different instruments, styles and ensembles has given me a strong understanding of the practical needs of musicians, and I believe it makes me well-suited for the technician role. I’ve loved my time in ULMS since joining on my second day at Lancaster, and I’m excited for the opportunity to contribute to the society by offering my time, skills, and enthusiasm.
