I\u2019m Ben, a first-year Maths student, and I\u2019m running for Technician. I\u2019ve been playing guitar for over ten years, alongside bass guitar, baritone horn, and double bass. I enjoy performing and listening to a wide range of music\u2014from heavy metal to jazz and classical\u2014across my various instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve gained experience in jazz ensembles, brass band, and string ensemble, as well as freelance work in pit orchestras and youth orchestras. I\u2019ve also worked at a music festival and in events management, giving me valuable insight into the technical and organisational side of live performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This breadth of experience across different instruments, styles and ensembles has given me a strong understanding of the practical needs of musicians, and I believe it makes me well-suited for the technician role. I\u2019ve loved my time in ULMS since joining on my second day at Lancaster, and I\u2019m excited for the opportunity to contribute to the society by offering my time, skills, and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Technician Ben Evans Hi!
