Bios for the EGM: March 2023

Choir Representative:

Anya Nanning Ramamurthy

I’m Anya Nanning Ramamurthy. Since a young age I have enjoyed singing in choirs and sharing the joy of music with others. I have sung with a range of choirs including New London Children’s Choir (conducted by Ronald Corp OBE) and Kaos Signing Choir for deaf and hearing children. The latter with whom I sung the English national anthem at the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, recorded a CD at Abbey Road Studios, sung and performed with the GB paralympics team, and performed at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Singing in choirs has given me so many positive experiences and joy, which I hope others too get to experience. I understand the importance of having a choir rep in the committee and appreciate the work that goes into ensuring the choir continues to run. I have had experience on a variety of committees before, and have been commended for my organisation, dedication and team work skills. If elected as choir rep, I endeavor to ensure the smooth running of rehearsals and well organized concert, and work to make Choir an enjoyable and welcoming group to be a part of. I believe that everyone, no matter their experience and skills, should have the chance to take part in music.
