Michaelmas Term Update

We’re now halfway through the first term and the fresher’s have been welcomed into the society! The end of week one saw members both old and new playing in the freshers concert held in the Great Hall! All seven main ensembles were able to perform to allow all members of the society to see what the different ensembles had to offer. This was followed by a social in Bowland Bar where everyone enjoyed free pizza!

Since the freshers concert, plenty of socials have already taken place allowing everyone to integrate into the society, including the three-legged bar crawl which I would say was a huge success! Following on from this is a variety of socials including the Great British Bake Off social, small groups showcase and the much-loved caroling bar crawl!

Moving forwards in terms of concerts, five of the main ensembles (Brass, Choir, String Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and Wind Band) will be performing in the traditional Christmas Concert on 14th December at 19:00 at St Peter’s Cathedral, Lancaster. Tickets for this are available from http://lusu.co.uk/groups/university-of-lancaster-music-society-ulms/events/ulms-christmas-concert-a234. In addition to the traditional Christmas concert, there will hopefully be a more jazz-style Christmas Concert before the end of term; details to follow soon!
